Well, I seem to be very bad at reguliarly checking online things anymore. There was Christmas and New Years, both of which were great, and then exams came up, and we're into the new semester at school. I'll be working at a co-op placement in the morning, and have online physics and french art in the afternoon. At the moment, I'm here because the online course hasn't sent me contact information yet. Other than that, I've started karate, am continuing organ lessons, and am keeping up with choirs.
So.
I think I'm going to try putting myself on something of a schedule with updating things. Monday is going to be dA day, so if there's anyone out there in the grand void of the interwebs who's still paying some sort of attention, expect a journal entry or an art piece or something on Monday!
Here's to hoping

Hello world!

Jeez, it's been a while. I had over a thousand deviations in my inbox by the time I got back here.
This place has been screwy on my computer, so I took a hiatus, but I can check in on the school system. I've been up to a lot of different things that I'll get around to posting, but this is just a shoutout to let interested parties know I'm still alive!

Writing Doubts

2 min read
Has anyone else ever had a story that they're on, and have it not go as well as usual? I mean, writing isn't usually easy, but I can usually finish a scene without wondering if it will even make its way into the story, and be useful in some way. But everything I come up with has serious logical knots, that I can't really work through until I've got more to work with. And because I have people reading over my shoulder and offering comments while I'm in the process, I can't just put a mental sticky note over it of "you need to fix something here" and go on until I have a horrible first draft to work with. I have to do it chronologically. And it's been giving me writer's block. Bah!
And it's not like I want to drop the story. I do have other ones that could be used for the project, but I really don't want to quit on this one.
I need to be a third through it by Tuesday, and my two main characters refuse to be put in the same room together. So I've been doing other, less important scenes, while I should be doing the bigger ones, and it looks to those who are reading it like my characters don't have, well, character.
Peer editing. Hate it. Or I'm just frustrated.
I just need to write two pages a day for the next four weeks and I'll have something near my page count, then I can edit. My second draft is where all the flowing correctness comes in.
Writing is more about perseverance and sheer pigheadedness than most other things.
I can do this. I just have to be stubborn about it.

...come back to life (read:the internet) from the dead (read:real life) just in time for the holidays. Yay!
So, the play I was in is now ended (sniff sniff), school is out for the holidays and Christmas is fast approaching. I miss having a full week before hand to goof off. But does this mean I shall have more free time over the holidays with two weeks after? Yes! And...no. Schoolwork must be done, and it's the perfect time to do it, after the initial shenanigans. Soooooo much review. And essays. Soooooooo many essays. :faint:
Speaking of gift exchanginess, for those people who are on this site and in my real life, I LOVE YOU ALL. Your presents are fantastic.
And in a rather unrelated note, me and my mother went out yesterday to get a new tv to replace the old clunker( we have plans for you...) and set it up after putting it together backwards and having to rescrew the base, and put in Stargate the movie and...it's black and white. It was actually pretty good in greys. I'm watching Avatar the Last Airbender right now. It's not the same without colour. That scene where Zuko and Aang dance with the dragons? The flame is a lot less impressive. So my parents are out right now, getting a different component cable.
And and aaaaaaand!!! I've been trying to write a comic type thingy. It was sketched in a notebook so it's been interestic trying to remove blue lines from the drawings. But I'm pretty happy with it so far.
So, merry the-day-before-christmas-eve to all you awesome folks out there :)
